Marie-Christine + David
Wedding at Vandelli Botanical Garden
Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal, lies the enchanting Vandelli Botanical Garden. A hidden gem for nature enthusiasts, this lush oasis is a haven of tranquility and beauty, offering a respite from the bustling city life. With its diverse collection of plants, stunning landscape, and rich history, the Vandelli Botanical Garden has rightfully earned its place as one of Lisbon's must-visit destinations.
Originally established in 1774, the Vandelli Botanical Garden has a remarkable history. Named after Domingos Vandelli, a renowned botanist and naturalist, this botanical masterpiece has undergone several transformations throughout the centuries. What was once a space dedicated solely to scientific exploration has evolved into a whimsical escape that appeals to both researchers and tourists alike.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Vandelli Botanical Garden also serves as an educational hub for botany enthusiasts and researchers. With its vast collection of over 4,000 plant species from around the globe, it provides a unique opportunity to learn about the rich biodiversity our planet has to offer. Visitors can partake in guided tours, workshops, and lectures led by experts, gaining insights into the fascinating world of plants and their conservation.
Marie-Christine and Dave contacted us in 2019. The wedding was supposed to take place in 2020. Australia was one of the countries that took border closures more seriously, so it wasn't even possible to have the wedding in 2021. It was postponed to 2022 but MC and Dave multiplied their love that year and Henry was born.
Still, they didn't give up on celebrating their day in Lisbon! Last weekend we celebrated with them and the day couldn't have been more beautiful.
